People

Recognising the growing care needs of the elderly, two professional women created the first moving home service in the UK in 2004. The innovative service has been carefully developed and many techniques pioneered to minimise the difficulties in the moving home process. In conjunction with trusted professionals, the company continues to expand its geographical area of operations and hone its services. Today the founders Charmian and Kim still work passionately in the business:

Kim Tompsett

Kim is a highly experienced operations manager. She is an expert in communications and organisational management and has worked for blue chip companies and smaller businesses in customer facing roles. She has interests in neighbourhood development and has co-chaired a resident’s Home Zone group

Charmian Boyd

Charmian is an experienced empathetic manager. She has interests in older people’s housing and currently serves on the board of Network Homes which manages 18,000 homes including older people’s sheltered and extra-care housing. At Network she the chairs the Customer Services Committee.

Carole and Tom Smyth

Carol and Tom are  based in Exeter and look after the West Country.   This expert qualified duo come from Occupational Therapy and Mental Health Services backgrounds.  Their experience of understanding physical and mental health needs means they are highly suited to helping individuals and families cope with the emotional and practical difficulties associated with moving home in later life. Carole and Tom also have considerable experience of working with both statutory and voluntary organisations

Kim, Charmian and other colleagues work across most of the UK including London, South East, Home Counties, Midlands, South West & further afield.  They often assist families who live abroad with family back home.  They also help expats who are returning to the UK and need assistance.
